The Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/NEP) board approved investments of $62,000 in two early-stage Pennsylvania companies. BFTP/NEP is a state-funded economic development organization that links early-stage companies and established manufacturers with experts, universities, funding, and other resources to help them prosper through innovation.

BFTP/NEP will invest in the following early-stage technology companies:

Galaxy Brushes, Moosic – $27,000

Implement marketing and sales activities to increase sales penetration for this manufacturer of brushes for the oil and gas pipeline industries. Galaxy has developed a proprietary brush that has produced superior results in cleaning pipelines and wells. Effective cleaning grows more critical with the aging pipeline infrastructure and costs associated with contamination.

TBW Industries Technology Group, Allentown – $35,000

Commercialize a patented new system for use in chemical mechanical polishing of semiconductor wafers. Use of TBW’s system dramatically reduces material consumption and defects during the processing of wafers, providing customers with substantial cost savings and return on investment.
