Far East Energy Corporation to Present at IPAA OGIS Small Cap Symposium

Far East Energy Corporation (OTC BB: FEEC) announced today that CEO Michael R. McElwrath will present at the Independent Petroleum Association of America’s Oil & Gas Industry Symposium, February 13, 2008, to be held at the Westin Diplomat Hotel in Hollywood Florida.

The presentation will highlight the company’s operational developments, and China’s rapidly developing markets for clean-burning coalbed methane natural gas. Far East Energy’s operations include the Shouyang and Qinnan Blocks, which are part of its 4,280 square kilometer (1,057,650 acres) coalbed methane (CBM) project in Shanxi Province. Far East also has a 1,073 square kilometer (265,000 acres) project in Yunnan Province. The coalbed methane concessions Far East Energy holds contain a land mass slightly larger than the State of Delaware.

As former Acting Assistant Energy Secretary in the George H.W. Bush Administration and as an International Negotiator in the Reagan Administration, Mr. McElwrath is a sought after speaker with regard to China’s energy issues. Mr. McElwrath has become a regular featured speaker at the annual U.S. — China Oil and Gas Industry Forum and a guest speaker at meetings hosted by China’s powerful National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and China United Coalbed Methane Corporation (CUCBM) for the purpose of discussing Chinese Energy Policy in general, and the natural gas and coalbed methane industries in particular.
