Passaic Color and Chemical Purchases Greenville Colorants' Basic Brown Business

Passaic Color and Chemical, a Division of Royce Associates, has purchased Greenville Colorants' Basic Brown and Brown-based Black Dye Business.

To better serve the ever-growing base of customers worldwide, Greenville Colorants and Passaic Color, a division of Royce Associates, have concluded a deal effective February 23, 2008. Greenville will continue to accept orders for its basic brown and black dye products for delivery up until February 24, 2008. Customers may place orders with Passaic Color at any time for deliveries scheduled for February 25, 2008 onward.

Royce's domestic manufacturing plant, located in close proximity to many key customers, is well suited to efficiently supply the industry in the face of upward price pressures from overseas suppliers. Furthermore, the additional volume that will come into Royce's plant will help to temper some of the tremendous cost increases that the industry is now facing due to the weakness of the US dollar and tremendous price increases from overseas sources of dyes and intermediates.

A Passaic Color Spokesman stated, "We are very pleased that this transaction will further insure our manufacturing base in the US which we have maintained without interruption since 1929. Furthermore, our new Greenville Customers can be assured that they will continue to receive a consistent uninterrupted flow of the highest quality product regardless of any geopolitical situation."

Greenville Colorants, operating out of Greenville, South Carolina, says, "We are pleased with our strategic decision that allows us to fully utilize our 160,000-square-foot facility for numerous specialized products to the Paper, Textile, Specialty, Agricultural, Landscape Material and all other colorant-related businesses."
