Posted on: Monday, 17 March 2008, 12:00 CDT

Georgia Bio (GaBio) is pleased to announce today that Fish & Richardson has joined the association as a Champion Sponsor, contributing $50,000 to support GaBio's efforts to grow the life sciences industry and prepare to host the 2009 Biotechnology Industry Organization International Convention.

Fish & Richardson joins six other organizations as champion sponsors of GaBio including Alston & Bird, Georgia Allies, Kilpatrick Stockton, King & Spalding, KPMG and Thompson Hine. These organizations have made multi-year commitments to GaBio's mission of fostering an environment that assists and encourages creation, retention and recruitment of life sciences companies and enables them to succeed.

"Fish & Richardson is excited to work with GaBio, one of the largest state organizations focused on the life sciences, and its members in their efforts to improve the business environment for life sciences companies here. Our law firm has one of the largest life sciences practices in the nation and our Atlanta office is an integral part of our team," said Tina McKeon, Ph.D., a principal in Fish & Richardson's intellectual property practice.

"GaBio's Champion sponsors have demonstrated their leadership and commitment to supporting Georgia's fast-growing life sciences industry," said GaBio President Charles Craig. "We welcome Fish & Richardson to this group. It will be critical to the success of the May 2009 BIO International Convention in Atlanta, the world's largest biotech conference. Fish & Richardson's support, along with the other Champion sponsors, also validates the new programs GaBio has implemented on behalf of the life sciences industry in areas of advocacy, education, economic development and business development."
