Hubble Space Telescope, K-12 Science Education, and the Role of the Visual in Communicating Science Are Featured on ''Science and Society'', Wednesday, February 23, 2005

"Science and Society" -- http://www.scienceandsociety.net -- announces an outstanding lineup for the broadcast on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
-- Professor Martin Kemp, Professor of the History of Art, University of Oxford, and author of "Leonardo"
-- Dr. John Bahcall, Richard Black Professor Natural Sciences, Institute for Advanced Study, and co-author of "Dark Matter in the Universe"
-- Dr. Robert Endorf, Professor of Physics, University of Cincinnati
Professor Kemp will discuss "the new history of the visual"; Leonardo's art, science, and technology; and visualization, modeling, and representation in science and art.
Dr. Bahcall will address the Hubble Space Telescope -- present and future contributions, the current scientific model of the universe, and manned space flight.
Dr. Endorf will discuss the Physical Science by Inquiry Programs, standards-based professional development programs for teachers in grades K-12.
"The range of topics covered on Science and Society is broad, stimulating, and provocative," said Dr. David Lemberg, Executive Producer of Science and Society.
