Composting at Home is Set to Get a Boost
EAST Lothian Council has joined a national home composting campaign to encourage more residents to join in.
The Waste Aware Scotland Home Composting Campaign enables householders to order bins as well as offering advice and tips on composting at home,
with the help of seven home composting advisers.
Campaign manager Dr Nicki Souter said: “Composting at home helps to reduce the 900,000 tonnes of kitchen and garden waste that Scotland produces every year.”
Paul McLennan, East Lothian Council’s environment spokesman, said: “We would encourage residents to take part in the home composting campaign and help increase the recycling rates in East Lothian.”
