Equivio, a provider of technology to detect and group near-duplicate files, and TechLaw, a developer of strategies to manage electronic and paper document collections, have announced that the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the US Department of Justice has implemented Equivio’s technology for the grouping of near-duplicate documents and reconstructing email threads.

The Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) is using the Equivio technology for native files, extracted text and paper-source OCR documents.

Equivio provides a vital competitive edge by helping litigators focus on the data they need to win. The grouping of near-duplicates and email threads allows attorneys to skip redundant data, and zoom in on the unique. This enhances the find ability of data, and reduces the risk of missing key information.

Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio, said: “We are delighted to be working with the Environment and Natural Resources Division. The consistent selection of Equivio by leading organizations throughout the eDiscovery sector further strengthens our position as the best-of-breed technology for near-duplicates and email threads.”
