KMG Electronic Chemicals to Increase Prices for High-Purity Process Chemicals Used in Electronic Applications
Posted on: Friday, 25 April 2008, 18:00 CDT
KMG Electronic Chemicals, Inc. today announced that it will increase the prices for certain high-purity process chemicals in North America. The increases are effective May 1, 2008 and will range between 5 and 18 percent. The Company attributes the increase primarily to the continued escalation in raw material prices, particularly those that are heavily influenced by the energy and agricultural markets.
Likewise, the cost of transportation continues to rise due to increasing fuel costs, and while KMG continuously seeks ways to minimize the impact, the pricing initiative is necessary to address the escalating material and distribution costs.
