New Director for Uni

A NEW director has been appointed for Northumbria University’s human resources team.

Jane Embley has a background in the Higher Education sector and her most recent post saw her directing the human resources department at Sunderland University.

Jane is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and an elected member of the national executive of the Universities Personnel Association.

She has an MA in human resources management from Newcastle University and a degree in accounting and finance, as well as being a trained mediator.

Jane said: “I am keen that we support the university to release the potential of staff so the university is an employer of choice. My goal for the department is that we don’t simply meet people’s expectations – we surpass them.”
