Engine Woes Force Plane to Land on the Freeway
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A small plane has taken off from I-95 near Daytona Beach after it made an emergency landing on the highway.
Volusia County sheriff’s spokesman Brandon Haught says the landing happened Tuesday afternoon in the Ormond Beach area. No one was injured.
Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Michael Roden says a flight student and an instructor were aboard the plane and decided to land when the aircraft developed an engine problem.
Roden says the roadway remained open.
