The aggregates, ready mixed concrete and building materials companies now have in place a robust EMS that conforms to the international standard widely-known as ISO-14001.

ISO-14001 is an international standard that provides a framework for developing, implementing and continually improving environmental programs. This prestigious standard governs an array of diverse businesses, challenging them to identify and proactively manage any impacts that their products or activities may have on the environment.

"Our employees at both Meyer and Paveloc have always taken their responsibility to the environment very seriously, and having successfully implemented and certified Aggregate Industries' EMS has taken us to an even higher level," said Frank O'Laughlin, Regional Environmental Advisor. "The amount of employee training and focus on procedures and documentation may have seemed a bit daunting at first, but we are now realizing the benefits from increase awareness. Achieving ISO-14001 certification is a prime example of our long-standing commitment to operating our business in an environmentally responsible manner, and also respecting our neighbors and surrounding communities."
