Most of Beach Reopened in Long Beach

LONG BEACH - Beach closures were lifted Thursday for most of the 1.75 miles off-limits after a spill, according to Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services Beach Advisory and Closure Hotline.
On Wednesday, swimmers in Long Beach were prohibited from going into the water along a 1.75 miles stretch west of Belmont Pier due to a sewage spill in Glendale that entered the Los Angeles River.
