Trapped Passengers Rescued From Sky Cabin
June 24, 2008
Twenty-four people had to be rescued at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif., when an observation tower became stuck, officials said.
Capt. Mike Blawn of the Orange County Fire Authority said no injuries were reported as a result of the Sunday incident.
Rescue officials used a 100-foot aerial ladder to remove people from the Sky Cabin, the Orange County (Calif.) Register reported.
Park authorities were trying to determine how the 225-foot rotating tower became lodged, Blawn told the newspaper.
Blawn said the cabin holding passengers was not at the highest point of the tower when it stopped.
