This Yakima man has ridden a wave to statewide honors.
Haller, who works for the state Department of Ecology, was one of 26 state government managers saluted by the governor.
A technical and policy expert on water resources, irrigation efficiencies and crop management, Haller works with farmers, ranchers, irrigators, tribes and other agencies. He helps promote and deliver on water-use efficiency for people, farms and fish.
He recently led the Columbia River Basin Program, finding new water supplies along the river while protecting endangered fish.
The governor's office noted that because of Haller's leadership, more water will be available to Eastern Washington to boost the economy and protect critical stream flows for fish.
