Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. NovaSource Crop Protection Unit Forms NovaSource(TM) Advisory Council
Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc.’s (TKI) NovaSource business unit announced the formation of the NovaSource Advisory Council (NAC). The objective of the council is to create a collaborative environment with NovaSource’s distributor and industry partners to develop new products and to introduce new uses for existing products. The council is comprised of distributor and private crop consultants and researchers from the specialty crop sector as well as TKI field personnel.
The NAC will be responsible for establishing field trials and demonstration plots examining the NovaSource range of crop protection products. In 2008 the focus of the group will be Surround(R), TKI’s new product purchased from BASF. The product’s plant health benefits of sunburn protection, mitigation of heat stress and insect suppression will be studied on crops such as almonds, onions, apples, pistachios cherries, tomatoes, and citrus.
Dr. Kurt Volker, Director of Development, TKI/NovaSource, will be overseeing the NAC research program. At the conclusion of the season, the group will meet to discuss trial results, exchange ideas, and discuss opportunities. Conclusions will be drawn from the work and plans for continued investigation in the following year will be developed. NovaSource plans to continue the NAC program in 2009 and will be expanding the scope of the program to include other products.
