Angling: Dave’s Weaver Delight
By DAVE HOUGHTON
MATCH fishing on the River Weaver got underway on Saturday at Northwich and Dave Edgley (Wigan MG) was the winner with 32-7-0.
The oak tree stretch of the river at Hartford is full of bream, although they don’t always oblige, but this was a dream start for Dave.
He went for the deeper water of mid river with a crumb feeder while offering a combination of worm and caster on the hook to catch 11 bream.
Sunday’s open went to Simon Wilkinson (Daves Middlewich) who was on the widest part of the Weaver and had three decent bream in a net of skimmers.
