Train Crew Fight Blaze
A DIESEL locomotive putting a goods train caught fire at Vauxbulk, Birmingham, today.
The train crew brought it to a halt and fought the flames with chemical extinguishers while fireman were on the way. It happened more than 20ft. above Landor Street, on a bridge carrying the line. A spark from the wheels is thought to have ignited oil-impregnated dust on the chassis of the locomotive.
