Salvation Army Needs Financial Help

Fresh from a tornado and a fire, the Salvation Army needs money.Having distributed thousands of meals, snacks and soft drinks to firefighters, crews and displaced people, it’s asking the public for money to help offset expenses.The Salvation Army’s mobile canteen provided 2,500 meals and 10,000 snacks to first responders at the Nash Ranch Fire in Park County that was contained early Monday, spokesman Roger Miller said.It began preparing for breakfast at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, and its volunteers finished their day at 10 p.m. They will continue to offer food, energy drinks and water through noon today as firefighters mop up.Donations can be made at 1- 800-SAL-ARMY; at P.O. Box 17607, Denver, CO 80217; or through imsalvationarmy.org. They should be designated for Colorado Emergency Disaster Relief.
