Iran to Increase Petrochemical Output By 43 Per Cent – Official

Following the inauguration of 11 new petrochemical complexes this year, the total amount of annual petrochemical output in Iran will reach 35m tonnes, the deputy head of the National Petrochemical Industry Company announced in Tabriz today.

Mr Afshin, who chaired the 31th session of heads of petrochemical complexes, said that together with the new complexes, the total output of petrochemical complexes will increase by 43 per cent compared with the last year. The country’s profit from the petrochemical industry will increase by 41 per cent and reach 12bn dollars, including 8bn dollars from exports, he added.

The acting deputy oil minister for petrochemical affairs [Afshin] touched on the beginning of expert research to construct the western ethylene pipeline [as heard] from Tabriz to Miyandoab. He said that the final decision on this project, which plays a major role in increasing output at the petrochemical complexes of Tabriz, will be declared soon.
