Being Poisoned

Environment Waikato is about to impose a 5.5 per cent rates increase. Presumably this additional money will assist in paying for further poisoning of our environment with 1080 operations in our water catchment areas.
I refer to Murray Dench’s letter (Waikato Times, June 25) where the necessity for and the amount of 1080 used in recent poisoning operations in the Rangitoto Ranges is questioned.
Why are we paying to have our environment and ourselves poisoned? In most countries this is called suicide.
