Arts and Business Council Needs Help
The Arts and Business Council of R.I. in Providence is kicking off the summer with the first annual IndieArts Fest on July 19. The festival will celebrate independently produced art, music, performance and locally sourced goods and products. It will also feature a marketplace and diverse entertainment. Community members are needed to assist with customer service, ticket and merchandise sales, food and beverage. Shifts are flexible. A Wish Come True, Inc. in Warwick seeks talented and dedicated community members from across the state to support the organization’s event planning and fundraising initiatives. Their mission of granting the wishes to children age 3 through 18 with life-threatening illness cannot be reached without the help of community supporters. Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island in Pawtucket need Rhode Islanders educated in Reiki, pet therapy and massage therapy to support their many patients. These services provide relaxation, decrease anxiousness and offer joy to the patients. Therapy volunteers will attend Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island training and agency orientation. The Newport Public Library seeks a summer outreach worker to help the organization conduct activities throughout the region. Activities may include age-appropriate story time or a library literacy program. The accepted applicant will contact agencies to schedule programs, plan and prepare all materials and activities, provide the program on-site at the agency locations and provide the library with written records of the programs. All materials, training and support will be provided by the library. Participant must be available during daytime hours on weekdays in the summer.
