Lakes Region Geologic Highlights to Be Detailed
BRIDGTON – Local geologist Jim Dover will present a two-part program titled “Geologic Highlights of the Lakes Region” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, and at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at the Lakes Environmental Association, 230 Main St.
On Wednesday, Dover will introduce participants to common geologic processes through a slide presentation and lecture. On Thursday, he will lead a hike up Pleasant Mountain to explore the geologic history of the mountain and the region.

For a more leisurely exploration of the region’s natural history, join LEA educator Adam Perron for a guided walk at Pondicherry Park at 9 a.m. Friday, July 11. Meet at the LEA Lakes Center to carpool to the park.
The walk will last approximately 1.5 hours and will cover easy terrain. For more information, call LEA at 647-8580.
