Jordan, U.S. sign environmental cooperation agreement
AMMAN, July 13 (Xinhua) — Jordan and the United States on Sunday signed an agreement to boost Jordan’s environmental staff training and improve relevant legislation.
The 600,000 U.S. dollars agreement was signed by Jordan’s Ministry of Environment, the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Jordanian Minister of Environment Khalid Irani said this agreement is a good achievement which paves the way to train the staff through an integrated approach for environmental inspection and enforcement of environmental laws.
He added that this agreement would allow the transfer of expertise in different domains, such as advanced environmental inspections and investigations in line with the latest international standards.
