Micronics Names Larry Hambleton As Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Micronics, Inc., a leading developer of rapid, molecular diagnostics for near patient, point of care detection of infectious diseases, today announced that it has named Larry Hambleton as its Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“Larry brings over 25 years of diagnostics industry experience with a strong technical background and proven product success in both U.S. and international markets,” according to Karen Hedine, Micronics’ president and chief executive officer. “His knowledge and experience in launching new molecular diagnostic products and opening new market channels make him the ideal candidate for Micronics given the molecular and other diagnostic products that the company is advancing,” she said.

Prior to joining Micronics, Mr. Hambleton served as the Director of Product Marketing at Cepheid, a global molecular diagnostics company that develops and markets products for improved patient care. There he had responsibility for the MRSA and Enterovirus molecular diagnostic product launches. His experience also includes a global marketing position with Roche Molecular Systems, a $900 million division of Roche Diagnostics that develops products to employ PCR. At Roche, he spearheaded marketing functions for blood screening products. He also worked in Belgium for Innogenetics N.V, a global biomedical company specializing in products for infectious diseases, genetic disorders and vaccines, and at Sanofi Diagnostics Pasteur, a leader in immunological assays and systems for infectious diseases, blood viruses and clinical microbial diagnostics.

Mr. Hambleton holds a B.A. in Microbiology from the University of Kansas and a B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
