Sedgwick Historians to Hear Photo Archivist
SEDGWICK – The Sedgwick-Brooklin Historical Society will sponsor a talk by Kevin Johnson, photo archivist of the Penobscot Marine Museum in Searsport, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Sedgwick Meetinghouse on North Sedgwick Road.
Johnson will discuss the archive of more than 37,000 glass-plate images the museum recently acquired. The images were taken by the Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Co. of Belfast between 1909 and 1947, largely of small rural towns and villages in New England and upstate New York.
This presentation is part of the Sedgwick-Brooklin celebration of the 2008 Touring Through Time weekend, July 26-27, including activities in towns from Castine to Blue Hill and down to Stonington on Deer Isle.
