Breaking News: Chemical Spill in Hull
Firefighters were this afternoon tackling a chemical spill at Reckitt Benckiser.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 11.11am today reporting a spillage of 50 litres of methyl vinyl ketone.
More than 35 firefighters, some wearing breathing apparatus and gas tight suits, attended the scene.
This afternoon they remained on site to ensure the spillage had been properly absorbed and presented no further danger.
Firefighters asked for sand to soak up the chemical and absorbent mats were used to stop it spreading.
It is understood no one was injured in the incident.
