BioLargo Technology Being Studied By University of Hawaii for Effectiveness to Treat Beach Contamination
BioLargo, Inc. (OTCBB:BLGO) has announced that the University of Hawaii recently commenced a nine-month study of CupriDyne(TM), the centerpiece of the company's BioLargo technology, and its effectiveness as part of a solution to remediate beach contamination.
The study is being conducted by Dr. Roger Fujioka at the University of Hawaii's Water Resources Research Center, at the request of the State's Department of Health and the City and County of Honolulu. These agencies have expressed interest in the results of the study and CupriDyne's potential to help remediate beach contamination. The study will evaluate the effectiveness of CupriDyne to disinfect multiple microorganisms commonly found at contaminated beaches, including E. coli, using standards established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
