WASHINGTON, July 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NSI, a Washington, D.C. based government and business consulting firm, announced today the expansion of its Energy and Environment Practice, led by industry thought leaders, Terry Tamminen and Bonnie Reiss. Tamminen, the Managing Director, and Reiss, a Senior Advisor, join Vice President Kevin Matthews as the leadership team.

"The team's vast experience across the renewable and alternative energy sectors, combined with our external relationships across the globe, all complement our goal to develop and execute sustainable solutions for our clients," said Al Gordon, CEO of NSI. "This team has been instrumental in advancing environmental policy around the world. They have an in-depth understanding of where economic, social, and environmental opportunities intersect in the state and local government marketplace."

Prior to NSI, Tamminen was appointed as the Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency in 2003, and served as Cabinet Secretary, the Chief Policy Advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger. Reiss served as Senior Advisor to Governor Schwarzenegger from 2003-2007, and was the Governor's point person on education, environment, women's issues, public safety and children's health. She was also involved in passing progressive environment and energy laws in California. Matthews was Director of Government Relations for AIG Environmental, and held multiple positions with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C.

"NSI is a political pathfinder that can quickly identify, prioritize, and target effective solutions in response to any global environmental issue," said Bob Uhler, CEO of MWH Global.
