New Forest Planned
July 29, 2008
ENGLAND’S largest new native forest is to be created with the planting of 600,000 trees, the Woodland Trust has announced.
The pounds 8.5m project covering 850 acres in Hertfordshire will be bigger than Sherwood Forest and the post-2012 Olympic Urban Park in London.
The first trees may be planted as early as this winter, the Trust said.
