Sometimes Council’s Attitude Stinks

August 2, 2008
Repost This

The other day I went with my family to Goodrington Beach we chose to sit on north sands as it’s nearer to move to the grass when the tide comes in.

I was incensed to see the amount of seaweed on the beach and the amount of flies which go with it.

I was informed that the beach is only cleaned twice a week nowadays and not every day like it used to be.

Here we are, a family resort where families come for the beach in the school holidays. And not just families but us locals use it regularly too and because of ‘resources’ it’s not cleaned every day.

I personally think this is disgusting and so did other holidaymakers sitting near us.

What impression does this say about our area? No wonder a lady wrote last week on the letters page that she doesn’t intend coming back to Torbay again after spending her holidays here for some 35 years as standards have slipped.

Boy didn’t she knock the nail on the head. Did we really need that carbuncle of a balloon on Torquay seafront?

Get real Torbay Council and clean up your act, the council tax bill gets more each year and we see less and less for our money.
