Firefighters Saved the Day
And how did you spend your 24th of July? Four firemen spent theirs rescuing our canyon. Parties were happily celebrating in cabins all around. Suddenly a different kind of fireworks -- a loud bang, a car horn blasting and flames covering the engine of a car.
For 43 minutes we had flames and wild smoke. Then, the huge, wonderfully obvious red fire engine. Someone had made it to a phone far down the canyon. Four men yanking a fat hose out of the front of the giant machine, turning 570 gallons onto the car.
The fire out. The end of fear.
Count on the experts to save the day -- or night.
