SEREMBAN: The state Fire and Rescue Department took about three hours to douse a fire which destroyed three paper and plastic recycling factories at the Sri Senawang Industrial Area along the Seremban-Tampin road yesterday.

More than 30 firemen in five fire engines from the Seremban 2, Senawang and Rembau stations, including two water tankers, rushed to the scene after a call at 4.40am.

Firemen said they had problems with low water pressure as the factories were located on high ground and they had to use water from the tankers to battle the flames.

Firemen have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Damages are expected to be more than RM5 million.
