Home Composter Wins Pounds 50
KEEN Nuneaton composter David White is the winner of Warwickshire County Council’s Recycle Now home composting golden bin competition.
Mr White ordered a compost bin as part of Compost Awareness Week celebrations in May, and is now the winner of pounds 50 of garden centre vouchers, donated by DHL, the logistics company that delivers compost bins for the Recycle Now Compost at HomeCampaign.
The new compost bin will enable Mr White, of Oakdene Crescent, to recycle nearly a third of his household waste, including kitchen and garden waste.
Caroline Faulkner, the county council’s waste minimisation officer, said: “Not only will his free, home-made compost keep the garden in bloom, but Mr White will also be reducing the amount of methane that is released into the atmosphere when wastedecomposes in landfill.”
To find out more about cut-price compost bins, priced pounds 17 for a 220-litre bin and pounds 20 for a 330-litre bin, visit www.recyclenow.com/compost or call 0845 077 0757, quoting reference HCA2.
