Chevron, Exxonmobil Well Positioned for Sakhalin-3 Project - Trutnev

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - Chevron and ExxonMobil will have the advantage when bidding at a new auction for a 49% interest in the Sakhakin-3 offshore hydrocarbons project, Natural Resources Minister Yury Trutnev has said.
A Natural Resources Ministry press release quoted Trutnev as making the announcement at a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez.
"Sakhalin-3 is as a strategic project. The 49% is the stake that is open to foreign investment. Chevron Texaco and ExxonMobil have certain advantages as they have established infrastructure at the site," the release said.
