Plantation Drive at DCB

PUNE: To mark the first day of the environmental and ecological week, saplings were planted at various places in Dehu Road Cantonment on Friday. DCB president and station commander Brig R.S. Rathod launched the plantation drive near the Central Ordnance Depot (COD).

On the occasion, Rathod said 25,000 saplings would be planted during the drive. Army officials and civilians planted saplings near the COD. Students of the Army Public School raised slogans on environment protection and students of the Army Primary School, Dehu Road, planted saplings in their school.

As part of the programme, excursion to various places will be organised for army units and students on Sunday while a run for environment would be held on Monday, cleanliness and sanitation drive on Tuesday and seminars on various environmental issues will be held on Wednesday.
