Southlander Appointed As Sustainable Trustee

ILANA BATCHELOR, of Environment Southland, is one of the inaugural trustees appointed to the Sustainable Living Education Trust.

The trust will develop a national sustainable programme and guide 3000 or more Kiwis to a sustainable lifestyle in the next 12 months.

The programme focuses on practical tips and techniques to reduce environmental footprints, such as home insulation, shopping choices to reduce waste, lower-carbon transport, and alternatives to toxic cleaning chemicals, plus practical composting techniques.

The founding trustees are Tony Moore (Christchurch City), Kitty Waghorn (Waimakariri District), Eion Scott (Auckland City), Ilana Batchelor (Environment Southland), Jenny Neilson (Dunedin City) and Brett Sangster (Greater Wellington).
