eMinutes(R) Commits to Plant 10,000 Trees By 2013

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- eMinutes(R), a leading provider of legal counsel related to business formation and the maintenance of legal entities, announced today that it will plant trees on behalf of clients who choose their paperless delivery option. To date, the company has planted more than 2,200 trees through American Forests(R), and they've set a five-year deadline to reach the 10,000-tree milestone.
As a law firm that forms hundreds of corporations and LLCs every year and maintains the corporate records for thousands of entities, eMinutes relies heavily on paper. The firm's founder sees digital document delivery as an opportunity to increase the firm's productivity, enabling them to offer a greater level of efficiency to clients throughout the world.
"Like most law firms, we churn through a shocking amount of paper," said Jeffrey Unger, founder eMinutes (http://www.eminutes.com/). "With paperless delivery, everyone wins -- the clients, the environment, and the firm itself."
When a client opts for paperless, the firm delivers documents electronically and posts copies of the documents to a private access page on the secure eMinutes website. Additional advantages for the client include automatic billing for annual renewals and online Secretary of State filings at no extra cost.
For every client who chooses the digital format, eMinutes will plant a tree to benefit the American Forests' Global ReLeaf(R) program. Unger's firm began planting trees with American Forests in 2006, and decided to up the ante after an enthusiastic response from clients.
"Why 10,000? Ten thousand trees release enough oxygen back into the atmosphere to support 20,000 human beings for one year," said Unger. "It's proof that you can be environmentally responsible and benefit your business at the same time."
eMinutes will keep clients informed of the tree planting activities via quarterly email blasts with updated tree counts. The initiative will also expand to include eResidentAgent(R), the sister company of eMinutes that provides registered agent services in all 50 states to thousands of businesses nationwide.
