Gustav, We Hardly Know Ye

September 1, 2008

As Hurricane Gustav hits the Gulf Coast, Bostonians can expect the exact opposite this Labor Day as temperatures will reach the mid- 80s with mostly sunny conditions.

“At this point it looks like a very nice stretch of weather coming up again for us,” said Joe Dellicarpini, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

The sun will also stick around from tomorrow until the end of Thursday. Temperatures are expected to peak in the upper-70s both tomorrow and Wednesday.

Come Friday through the weekend however, the chance for showers becomes greater as a cold front coupled with possible remnants of Tropical Storm Hanna may pass through the state, Dellicarpini said.
