Vote for Turino

I am writing to urge voters at the special Otisfield town meeting at the Community Hall at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4 to elect Karen Turino to the Board of Selectmen. Although her name might be unfamiliar to some, many will recognize her from shopping at Hannaford, where, until her recent retirement, she was assistant personnel manager. She has also been a consistent attendee at selectmen's meetings for the past three years. Her education includes a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College with credits toward a master's.

Karen's goals as selectman are consistent with her professional qualifications and involvement in many Bolsters Mills activities, including the improvement society, church and library. They are: more openness and accountability, more representation of the townspeople; immediate planning for future changes; a Comprehensive Plan acceptable to the state; protection of our natural resources; written town policies that are enforced; and fairness and professionalism in town government.Ethel Bean Turner, Otisfield
