Building Collapse Kills a Worker in Virginia
CHESTER, Va. (AP) — A construction worker was killed Wednesday when a partially built retail and residential building collapsed in a Richmond suburb, officials said.
Emergency crews found the body of Scott Giordano, 38, of Disputanta, Va., about six hours after the collapse and continued to search for anyone else who might have been trapped, said Chesterfield County Fire Battalion Chief Robby Dawson.
One other male worker with minor injuries was taken to a hospital.
