Iranian Official on Petrochemical Products of Bandar Imam Complex

Text of report by Iranian state-run provincial TV from Khuzestan on 13 September

Some 2,200,000 tonnes of various petrochemical products have been produced at the petrochemical complex in Imam Khomeyni Port since the beginning of this year [Iranian year started 20 March 2008].

The managing director of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex said that this amount of products was produced by Faravaresh Bandar Imam Company, Besparan and Kymia.

He added that during this period of time more than 29 petrochemical products have been produced by these companies.

Mr Nezhadsalim said that propane, butane, propylene, parazylene, mixture of xylenes, raffinate, ethane, benzene as some of the produced products.

He added that these materials are used as main raw material for the units of the complex, solvents of petrochemical industries, polyester fibres, and material for bottles of soft drinks.
