Comments Invited on Route 108
SYRACUSE -- The public is invited to comment on the environmental impact statement for proposed improvement to state Route 108 in Davis and Weber counties.
Comments are due by Oct. 6.State Route 108 goes by various names: Midland Drive and 3500 West in Weber County and 2000 West in Davis County. UDOT has plans to widen the road, and the U.S. Federal Highway Administration requires an EIS to identify long-term solutions for improving the road.
The agencies determined that one alternative -- widening to five lanes -- would meet the long-range needs of the corridor while minimizing impacts to nearby neighborhoods. Once the project is approved by UDOT and the federal government, construction can begin as funding becomes available.
The final EIS may be found online at www.udot.utah.gov
