TALENTED student Sarah Rachel Warren is among the top 10 AS physics students in Britain.

Her remarkable achievement has just been announced by Edexcel, the UK’s largest awarding body.

Sarah, 17, of Guisborough, sat the physics exam this summer at Guisborough’s Prior Pursglove College and out of 3,516 candidates nationally, achieved one of the highest marks – putting her in the top 10 in her subject.

The former Laurence Jackson School pupil, who is studying A levels in physics, maths, further maths and geography at Prior Pursglove said: “The college has only just found out about this individual achievement and the exams manager Denise Adams came and found me to tell me in my physics class.

“The whole class congratulated me! I am absolutely delighted with the news.”

Sarah hopes to go on to study natural sciences at university.

Jerry Jarvis, Edexcel’s managing director, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and testament to the hard work students put into preparing for their exams. We send our warm congratulations to Sarah.”
