Are Roosters Allowed in S.L.?
Regarding “Pets with a purpose: Utahns turning to poultry,” (Sept. 28), I was a bit confused. In the story, Daysha Moore is pictured “visiting” with Cookie, one of her chickens, that is clearly a rooster. The article goes on to say she lives in Salt Lake (as do I) and that roosters are not permitted. I have chickens and have resisted having a rooster because of the laws regarding having them.
I do feel bad for people who have roosters in their area and who have little choice but to listen to the crowing every morning and evening. I would not put my neighbors through that. We all need to obey our local ordinances.
