Science and Nature in Focus
SCHOOLCHILDREN are being encouraged to take pictures of science and nature in the North East for a photography competition.
The aim of the competition, for seven to 16-years-old, is to make students think about the science in the photo they have taken and briefly describe it.
Photographers with the best pictures will win a top digital camera and a trip for their class to Centre for Life’s Lifelab.
The competition is being run by Newcastle Science City and all winners will get framed editions of their photographs. Judges are photographer Roger Coulam, who has taken photos of the North East’s land and seascapes, Peter Arnold, chief executive of Newcastle Science City and Anne Davies, secondary science consultant for Newcastle City Council.
Details of how to enter and photography tips are on Newcastle Science City website, www.newcastlesciencecity.com, closing date for entries is October 27.
