Beauty Face Values

Moisturisers are a key element of make-up – as the foundation of your beauty regime, a good one can make you look more radiant, healthier and blemish-free.

Nowadays, however, with increasing awareness of nasty ingredients, it’s essential to take note of what goes into the moisturisers you use, and therefore what goes into your skin.

You can tend to rely on Origins to keep its products free of chemicals. Instead of parabens, phthalates, mineral oils or petrolatum in its lists of ingredients you’ll find essential oils and organic components.

One of its best ranges, Dr Andrew Weil for Origins, includes a Mega-Mushroom Face Lotion (pounds-45), which is worth a try.

It’s a gentle product that promises to calm your skin in no time.

Similarly, Elemental Herbology’s Cell Plumping Facial Hydrator (pounds-36) at Space NK is free of chemical intruders.

It’s packed with antioxidants that will help protect your skin against the elements, while its essential oils and rose water create a sublime scent.

Sticking with the botanical theme, Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Cream (pounds-33) is made from compounds found in grapevine stalks.

Designed to enhance the brightness of your skin and reduce dark spots, it’s chock-full of good stuff like shea butter, olive and camomile.
