‘Sample the Sciences’ at the University of Redlands

REDLANDS – University of Redlands Town & Gown and the university’s Science Center students and faculty invite the community to “Sample the Sciences” Oct. 16.

The Stauffer Science Complex will open its doors for a layman’s overview of the institution’s current research in the fields of chemistry, biology, math/computer science, physics and astronomy. Learn about student and faculty summer research projects and get an overview of new equipment.

Students will provide tours of the buildings, give visitors a close-up view of the labs, and facilitate star gazing from the center’s telescopes. The evening provides an opportunity to expose children 13 and up to studying the sciences.

The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Stauffer Science Complex and includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages. The cost is $17.50 per person for Town & Gown members, $20 for non-members; reservations can be made online at www.redlands.edu by going to the Alumni & Friends link or by calling the Office of Alumni Relations at (909) 748- 8011. Reservation deadline is deadline is Monday, Oct. 13.
