Firefighters Battle L.A. County Wildfire

Firefighters were battling a wildfire in California's Angeles National Forest Monday, triggering the evacuation of 1,200 residents, officials said.
No injuries have been reported in the blaze, in the foothills near the San Fernando Valley, but about 450 homes in the Los Angeles's Lopez and Kagel canyons are considered threatened by the "Marek fire," The Los Angeles Times reported.
One house, three motor homes, a garage and a shed had been destroyed by the blaze, which was 20 percent contained by Sunday night. Los Angeles County Fire Inspector Frank Garrido described the fire as "stagnant" and told the Times authorities were "putting a containment line around it."
But, he warned, forecasts for high Santa Ana winds could change the situation quickly.
