PennFuture Elects New Board of Directors Vice Chair
Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) today announced the election of David Lane, President of LevLane Advertising, to vice chair of its board of directors for a two-year term. Lane will work to enforce environmental laws and advocate for the transformation of public policy, public opinion and the marketplace to restore and protect the environment and safeguard public health.
"I am especially excited that David Lane has been elected vice chair on our board of directors," said PennFuture President Jan Jarrett. "He has been a long trusted advisor of our staff, a very active board member and someone John Hanger, the former president, has relied on. I am glad to have David contribute his valuable input and ideas."
As an active board member, Lane helped plan PennFuture's 10th Anniversary Gala Reception and Dinner, the Annual Green Power Awards ceremonies and every PennFuture event since he joined the board of directors in May of 2004.
"I am honored to be elected vice chair of the PennFuture board," said Lane. "I feel strongly about protecting our environment and am excited to continue to advocate the mission of PennFuture."
PennFuture is a statewide public interest membership organization, founded in 1998. Working from the premise that "Every environmental victory grows the economy," PennFuture has successfully advocated for landmark environmental legislation, including passage of the largest ever environmental funding bond, passage of the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act, adoption of the Clean Vehicles Program and adoption of a regulation that protects Pennsylvania's babies by restricting mercury pollution from coal-fired power plants. PennFuture has staff throughout the state, in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, West Chester and Scranton. The Philadelphia Inquirer called PennFuture the "state's leading environmental advocacy organization."
