Signature Homes to Build New Mixed-Used Development in Hoover
Signature Homes has unveiled plans to build a new mixed-use development named Chace Lake on the site of the former Chace Lake Country Club overlooking the Cahaba River.
Plans for Chace Lake consist of 215 home sites, 34 of which were reserved on the opening night. Residents will be able to choose from more than twenty home plans with homes ranging in price from $240,000 to $330,000. Signature Homes plans to start construction on the Dungan Nequette Architects-designed homes in November.
Chace Lake will also include a 22-acre shopping center along Highway 31, offering the convenience of just walking distance from the residential portion of the community. The commercial district will house a mix of retailers and restaurants, with an office complex, bank branch and possible hotel for the site.
"Signature Homes is excited to establish the Chace Lake community in Hoover," said Jonathan Belcher, president of Signature Homes. "Residents at Chace Lake will enjoy all of the comforts of park side living within a tranquil, connected neighborhood, combined with the convenience of living in the heart of Hoover."
Chace Lake will feature numerous natural amenities, with more than one-third of the community reserved as green space. The highlight will be a park encompassing more than 40 acres and featuring measured fitness trails, park side pavilions and preserved meadows along the Cahaba River. Signature Homes will donate the park to the City of Hoover for public use. True to its namesake, Chace Lake will maintain a lake covering nine acres adjacent to the Cahaba River.
The master plan of the neighborhood emphasizes a connected, sustainable community. Homes will be connected by sidewalks and shared neighborhood greens, with streetlights placed throughout the development. Chace Lake will also provide residents with a community clubhouse and pool.
Chace Lake is the sixth new home community currently being built by Signature Homes in Hoover. Other developments include Ross Bridge, Beaumont, Edenton, Chapel Creek, The Preserve and Trace Crossings. Signature Homes' developments have proved to be immensely popular, with prospective residents forming lines and camping out prior to previous reservation events.
